The client approached Bankhead Design after seeing their project at Beechwood Avenue and
wanted to add a similar 2 storey rear and side extension to their semi detached property to
gain more space for their young family. Bankhead Design were appointed to produce sketch
design proposals which could be used to obtain outline cost estimates and then to eventually
produce detail drawings for planning & final costings. Rather than use timber cladding to the
exterior the client is currently thinking of using a smooth render finish due to budget
constraints to match the existing property. The client is currently talking to a couple of
contractors and are quietly confident that they can carry out the works within their budget. We
are hoping to submit a full planning application in early 2019.
BANKHEAD Design were appointed to produce design options and planning drawings for the construction of a new 2 storey rear extension to the existing detached property. The Client wanted to create an open plan kitchen/dining area and utility room. On the first floor, the existing bathroom was reconfigured to provide a new ensuite bathroom to the main bedroom and an additional bedroom was created to the rear. The client wanted to create a light and airy feel to the new extension so we proposed an internal pitched roof with skylights. Large aluminium bi-fold doors were installed to the rear which opens up the space to the garden.The project was completed in 2021.
